Upgrades and Licensing
TheBrain 15 will be a free upgrade for all users with an active subscription. For users with a one-time license-only purchase, TheBrain 15 will be free if the license was purchased on or after June 5, 2025.
Compatibility with v14
TheBrain 15 installs alongside TheBrain 14. Data is backward compatible with the following exceptions:
After a brain has been opened in Version 15, it will not automatically be able to open in v14. This is due to a new feature called Light Sync. Light Sync keeps file attachments in the cloud and they are downloaded just-in-time to enable much faster sync while saving space on your device. If you wish to jump between v15 and v14, disable this feature in v15.
